THE BLACK FARMER
WINS TOP BRAND ID AWARD
The Black Farmer, best known for its British premium gluten free sausages, bacon and chicken products, has scooped the top award for its Brand Identity in the 2009 annual Pig & Poultry Marketing Awards.
Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones, founder of the brand and better known as The Black Farmer, accepted the award today at a ceremony where he was the official compere: “It was an honour to be invited to compere these prestigious industry awards, so to receive an award for The Black Farmer too is the ultimate win-win!”
The judges praised The Black Farmer’s striking packaging and clear gluten free positioning. They added that The Black Farmer ‘shows us something about branding, getting it right, and then using that brand equity to develop further products … including the new The Black Farmer’s Daughter range. Building the right relationships at processing has been key to getting this brand off the ground, and in this current environment, getting listed is no mean feat, staying on the shelves and continuing to produce further product innovations, should be applauded, and are testament that The Black Farmer brand can give us all a lesson in innovation.’
