Tea Time for Coeliacs at Westminster
‘Free for Tea?’ was the invitation from Coeliac UK to Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones, The Black Farmer and other supporters, to attend an awareness raising tea at the House of Commons last week.
As part of a wider ‘Eating Out’ campaign, which aims to improve gluten-free eating for people with coeliac disease, ‘Free for Tea?’ aims to mobilize people to raise awareness and get people talking about coeliac disease. Currently eating out for coeliacs is a lottery. A recent survey conducted by Coeliac UK shows that 58% of people with coeliac disease are most concerned that food served in eateries is not safe for them*.
One in 100 people in the UK have coeliac disease, a serious health condition caused when the body is intolerant to gluten. All The Black Farmer products are gluten free http://www.theblackfarmer.com
